POSITION SUMMARY
The Head of Information Technology (IT) is a key leader within IFAC’s global organization, responsible for the strategic planning, management, and continuous improvement of IFAC’s information technology systems and services. This role ensures that IT infrastructure and solutions effectively support IFAC’s mission, operational needs, and global workforce, while maintaining security, compliance, and cost efficiency. The Head of IT works closely with internal stakeholders and manages relationships with external IT service providers to deliver high-quality technology services and projects across IFAC’s global footprint.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties and responsibilities include those that are set out below for both IFAC. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
QUALIFICATIONS AND CHARACTERISTICS
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Additionally, if an applicant is US-based, provided they meet all eligibility requirements under the applicable plan documents, employees (and their eligible dependents) will be eligible to enroll in group healthcare plans that offer medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees will also be able to enroll in our company’s 401 (k) plan, as well as a deferred compensation plan, provided they meet plan requirements.
IFAC welcomes applicants from all geographical locations, and this role can be remote if outside of the NY-Metropolitan area. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At IFAC, compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for candidates in the NY-Metropolitan region is $175,000 to $225,000.

- Develop and implement short, medium, and long-term IT strategies and budgets to support organizational goals and evolving global operations.
- Manage, oversee, and maintain the relationship with external IT service providers, ensuring delivery of effective, efficient, and secure IT services.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate IT-related risks as part of the Risk Management process.
- Design, implement, and maintain IT systems, infrastructure, and processes, ensuring alignment with global operating models, the MVP, and business requirements.
- Collaborate with senior leadership and stakeholders to plan and execute IT enhancements and projects that enable the organization’s strategic objectives, including support for onsite and remote staff worldwide.
- In conjunction with the CFAO, lead the development and implementation of IT strategy, infrastructure, and systems, specifically Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Content Management System (CMS) in the short term to support secure and scalable operations.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, cybersecurity standards, and data protection laws across all IT operations.
- Monitor IT expenditures against budget and report variances to senior leadership as required.
- Manage IT contracts and vendor agreements, conducting periodic reviews to identify cost-saving or performance-enhancing opportunities.
- Maintain an accurate IT asset inventory and ensure lifecycle management for hardware and software assets.
- Manage ongoing maintenance, repairs, upgrades, technical support, and project implementation of all IT-related equipment, systems, and networks.
- Oversee the management of all conference room equipment and testing of any new equipment before organizational rollout.
- Manage, mentor, and coach the IT team to enhance leadership capabilities and drive organizational impact.
- Support the planning and execution of IT aspects of office relocations, renovations, or expansion projects as needed.
- Provide IT support in alignment with established Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to ensure timely, high-quality service delivery to partner organizations.
QUALIFICATIONS AND CHARACTERISTICS
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in IT management, with significant exposure to global, nonprofit, or multi-location environment.
- Experience managing external IT service providers and ensuring service quality, performance, and cost control.
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, network systems, cybersecurity, hardware/software management, and cloud-based solutions.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and priorities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to work effectively across diverse cultures and teams.
- Ability to analyze complex IT challenges and develop effective, sustainable solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing proposals, reports, and presentations for executive audiences.
- Highly organized, with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to track complex deliverables.
- Client Service mindset, with a proactive and forward-looking approach.
