POSITION SUMMARY
The Education Lead plays a key role in supporting IFAC’s global initiatives to advance education. Reporting to the Head of Education, Member Monitoring, and Development, this position helps manage and implement projects, facilitates stakeholder engagement, contributes to technical content development, and ensures effective knowledge sharing across IFAC’s education programs and platforms. The role supports the revision to and implementation of International Education Standards (IES), collaborates with IFAC’s International Panel on Accountancy Education (IPAE), and assists in delivering special projects aligned with IFAC’s strategic goals and Member Value Proposition (MVP). This role serves as a trusted technical resource, project coordinator, and relationship manager, helping drive progress toward a future-focused, globally relevant accountancy profession.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIRED SKILLS
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Additionally, if an applicant is US-based, provided they meet all eligibility requirements under the applicable plan documents, employees (and their eligible dependents) will be eligible to enroll in group healthcare plans that offer medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees will also be able to enroll in our company’s 401 (k) plan, as well as a deferred compensation plan, provided they meet plan requirements.
IFAC welcomes applicants from all geographical locations, and this role can be remote if outside of the NY-Metropolitan area. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At IFAC, compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for candidates in the NY-Metropolitan region is $175,000 to $225,000.

- Support the Head of Education, Member Monitoring, and Development in executing IFAC’s global approach to advance accountancy education, focusing on high-quality, future-oriented learning and professional development.
- Coordinate projects related to the development, implementation, and promotion of International Education Standards (IES).
- Assist in managing the operations of the International Panel on Accountancy Education (IPAE), including organizing meetings, preparing materials, and tracking follow-up actions.
- In coordination with the Communications team, develop and draft technical content, reports, guidance materials, and knowledge resources for IFAC’s education initiatives and website.
- Engage with experts and stakeholders from communities such as regulators, national and international standard-setters, accountancy firms, governance groups, and Professional Accountancy Organizations (PAOs) around the world to build collaborative relationships.
- Monitor trends, challenges, and innovations in global accountancy education, providing research and recommendations to inform IFAC’s strategy.
- Support IFAC’s knowledge-sharing capability through contributions to publications, webinars, and website updates.
- Participate in special projects and cross-functional initiatives as assigned, contributing technical expertise and project management skills.
- At the discretion of the CEO, represent IFAC at virtual and in-person meetings, conferences, and events as needed.
- Manage, lead, and mentor junior staff or contractors working on accountancy education projects, as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIRED SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting, Business, or Public Administration, education, or a related field required. CPA preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in education, operations, communications, or related fields, preferably within a nonprofit or global professional membership organization.
- Deep knowledge of the global accountancy profession, professional accountancy organizations, and their stakeholders.
- Understanding of international accountancy standards, professional education practices, and the evolving needs of the profession.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear, concise, and engaging technical and educational materials.
- Proven project management skills, with experience managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively across teams, stakeholders, and senior leaders, including officials from external organizations and governments.
- Ability to work effectively across diverse cultures, as well as an understanding of development opportunities and challenges.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines, including those imposed externally.
- Commitment to quality processes and high-quality deliverables.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with flexibility especially important.
